General Information
The Mayor’s Office of African American Male Engagement (MOAAME) is committed to creating a Community Collaborative Network and support structure to identify the needs of men and to coordinate, advance, and implement policies and practices that promote opportunities for all of Baltimore’s African American males, as well as others we encounter, to achieve a successful and fulfilling life.
MISSION:
The Mayor's Office of American Male Engagement will devise practices related to implementing our Connect to Success (C2S) and Mission 186 (M 186) strategies. More specifically, we will coordinate sustained programming that proactively advance the educational and socioeconomic development of disconnected boys, youth, and young men, including those who panhandle ("squeegee" youth in the City of Baltimore).

Mission 186
(M186)About
MOAAME's Mission 186, also identified as M186, takes strategic actions to facilitate awareness, access and accountability through quality connected relationships with the approximate 186,000 African American males (children, youth and adults) who reside within the 92.2 square miles of Baltimore City.
Essential aspects of M186:
Fishers of Men - a ground level exchange of skills among African American Males, including navigating skills in unique environments. The fishing process acknowledges every male, and aids the city's efforts to reduce violence though improving community engagement and keeping Baltimore healthy. The target population is African American Males ages 16 – 49.
MOAMME Engagement Centers - Provides support and resources through repetitious engagement. MOAAME's goal is to work with African American Males who desire to build positive and constructive habits. Participants can receive the tangible access to the resources to address their immediate needs.
Community Collaborations - A network of community partners. MOAAME is committed to engaging and working in collaboration with agencies, organizations, programs, and individuals that provide a "High Standard of Engagement" for African American males. They are establishing and maintaining a city-wide network that will continually advance policies and practices directly benefiting African American Male, children, youth and adults in all pathways forward through quality connected relationships.
