General Information
Provide substance use treatment, therapy, education, medication, case management and recovery services to opiate addicted adults.
Services are available by appointment or walk-in, ask about our Telehealth services. Accepting new clients, same day admission available M-F 6AM-1PM!
If you call the intake coordinator at 410-323-9811, and "Press 2" they will set you up with an appointment and explain the admission process. Please bring photo identification and proof of insurance & social security cards, if applicable.
Medication Dispensing Hours: Monday-Friday 6:00 AM-2:00 PM, Saturday 8:30 AM-12:30 PM.

Family/Marital Counseling
About
Engaging your family in treatment due to the effects substance abuse has on family relationships and dynamics.
Individual Counseling
About
You are assigned a primary counselor who is responsible for ensuring that you have counseling, support, and resources as needed. One-on-one counseling helps to teach you how to make changes that will move towards recovery.
Peer Recovery Services
About
The Client Advocacy Team (C.A.T.) is a group of patients in recovery who experience leadership, advocacy, and community responsibility by offering peer support, mentorship, and a voice for the other patients at GLCC. They are recommended by staff and voted on by members.
The C.A.T. members: 1) Conduct many of GLCC’s annual surveys 2) Attend grievances and team meetings at the behest of other patients; 3) Collect foods, toys and clothing for holiday baskets for poor neighbors in Woodbourne- McCabe and/or Toys for Tots 4) Plan, organize and raise funds for "patient field trips” and activities meeting 5) Sponsor peer lead groups and speaker series 6) Participate in neighborhood, and GLCC clean-up 7) Sponsor and run the annual "Juneteenth" celebration 8) Organize and run the food pantry, and Recovery Garden, 9) Help organize and staff GLCC’s Recovery Month activities 10) Adhere to the CAT bank account and budget.
HIV Education and Testing
About
Through ongoing partnerships with other health care agencies, GLCC provides routine onsite testing, referral, education and follow up for HIV and Hepatitis.
Group Treatment
About
Group treatment can offer the support, friendship, knowledge, and wisdom of others who have also experienced addiction and mental illness. Group therapy, education, and support are some of the preferred and most successful approaches to sobriety and recovery.
Mental Health Screening & Referral

Trained professionals at Glenwood Life Counseling Center can help with the assessment, referral, and treatment of mental health issues.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
About
The medical staff are licensed and trained addictions professionals who carefully evaluate and monitor each patient. Methadone is used to treat opiate addiction and support your long term recovery by eliminating the sickness and cravings associated with narcotic addition.
Regular Schedule
How to Apply:
After calling the Intake Coordinator, a brief interview will be conducted for seeking MAT for opioid addiction. You are scheduled for an appointment and informed about the admission process, which requires photo identification and proof of insurance, if applicable (we can help assist with this). The admission process takes around 1.5 hours, discussing medical history and current medical conditions and requesting to give us written permissions as needed. Methadone treatment starts same-day if client is clear-headed, but if intoxicated you will not be able to give informed consent for treatment.Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
About
The Intensive Outpatient Program serves individuals who continue to struggle with drug abuse despite their involvement in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and weekly counseling. Participants are offered the opportunity to meet 3 or 4 days per week while experiencing the support and encouragement of their peers and professional substance use disorder counselors.
IOP services include: 1) 9 hours of programming, provided by Certified or Masters Level Counselors. 2) Weekly individual counseling. 3) Daily Groups for symptom management, coping and self-management skills, life skills, relapse prevention, anger management, illicit substance use recovery plans, and gender specific health, trauma, relationship and family skills. 4) Extra groups periodically offered: Field trips, luncheons, projects, art therapy, budgeting, as well as other creative “Fun without Using” time limited activities to meet the needs and interests of current patients. 5) Methadone maintained patients from other programs may be “guest dosed” at GLCC when attending IOP. 6) Use of incentives for attendance and/or decrease in illicit substance use.

About
Provided by trained people in long term recovery. The Peer Case Managers (also referred to as Peer Recovery Advocates) work to connect you with services in the community.
Case Management services include: substance use and mental health referrals; social services application; health insurance application; BGE assistance; employment searches; GED application; basic computer or resume skills; assistance with housing applications.
