Citizenship Assistance

About

CASA offers citizenship education, mentoring and interview preparation, application assistance, and post-naturalization support. They can help you fill out the form for US Citizenship, enroll you in a citizenship class, prepare you for your interview, and much more. You can walk in to the center Mondays-Saturdays from 7am to 2pm to register for the Citizenship program. You can also call the center at 240-491-5765 for more information.

Legal Assistance

About

CASA provides a variety of legal services for low-income immigrants who are experiencing housing, employment and immigration-related issues. For information about legal consultations, please call 1-866-765-2272 and a member of CASA’s legal department will return your call.

Fees:

Free for all CASA members. Fees may apply if you are not a CASA member.

About

CASA partners with Community Colleges and other organizations to offer a range of vocational training classes to low-income immigrant communities.

ESOL Classes

About

** Registration for the fall session of English classes will open on August 1st. Then morning and evening classes will begin on August 28th and Saturday classes will begin on September 9th. Click here for more information and to register.**

Classes that teach you how to read and write in English are offered here. You can take a weekday class, which meet Mondays through Thursdays. These classes are typically offered either in-person or through Zoom. Virtual morning classes meet Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am via Zoom. Virtual evening classes meet Monday through Thursday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm via Zoom. In-person evening classes meet Monday through Thursday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. You can also take an in-person Saturday class, which meets every Saturday from 9am-1pm. Click here to register.

Fees:

$100 fee for CASA members. You can become a member for $35 annually. Visit the website or call the center to ask about becoming a member.

Audience:

Immigrants that want to learn English as a second language.

CASA provides a hotline in order to answer your health-related questions and help you to take care of your family. Services include health care referrals to doctors and dentists, as well as health insurance support. This hotline also provides information about unemployment applications and food stamps.
