General Information


Guests can bring two bags and are permitted to enter the shelter between 4 PM and 12 Midnight. Hours of Operation: 9 PM-9:30 AM seven days a week, weekend hours, and holidays.
Parking is available and vans provide transportation to day centers from the following locations: My Sister’s Place at 17 West Franklin at 4:45 PM, 5:45 PM, 6:45 PM, 7:45 PM, and 9:15 PM and Weinberg Housing Resource Center at 4:30 PM, 5:30 PM, 6:30 PM, 7:30 PM, 9 PM, and 9:15 PM. Persons seeking shelter in the evening should call to confirm space availability. Accomodations are available. All clients are screened for COVID and eligible for shelter.
Breakfast is offered between 6-8 AM and dinner from 6:30-8:30 PM, will also offer a meal outside those hours as needed. A social worker is available at the shelter on Tues, Wed and Thurs, 5-8 PM to assist with applying for permanent housing, applying for benefits, and other needs.

Eligibility:

All clients are appropriate for a shelter bed, exclusions are as follows: -Any acute medical issues that require monitoring, or a higher level of care to include any active communicable diseases (specifically in the first 72 hours) -Any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 -Incontinence not self-managed -Wheelchair-bound patient that is unable to self-transfer -No oxygen, lines, or drains -Wounds that are not self-managed (patient must be able to do their own dressing, and also must have supplies) -Must be independent in all ADLs -Active suicidal or homicidal ideations, or acute behavioral issues -Active lice or bed bugs
